In Northeast Ohio, Old Brooklyn is home to one of the largest populations of residents 60 years and older. While many of these seniors still care for themselves, many rely on charitable organizations for ongoing support and opportunities to stay active within the community.
Since 1971, that organization has been Senior Citizen Resources.
Our programming helps to keep individuals healthy and living independently by meeting their basic needs. Our five main programs—transportation, nutrition, activities, social service, and volunteering—focus on health and wellness and provide opportunities for
creativity, lifelong learning, and socialization. We offer rides to and from doctor appointments, provide weekly trips to the grocery store, host and deliver hot meals, offer health and wellness screenings, and organize activities to get seniors out of the house and socializing with friends and neighbors.
To date, we have positively impacted the lives of thousands of seniors, while continuing to expand our services and broaden the reach of our programs. Our mission — to enhance continued independent living and promote the quality of life for seniors in the Old Brooklyn community — is our never-ending inspiration.
