SUPPORTING OUR SENIORS

Whether it is a home-delivered meal, Medicare assistance or a listing of volunteer opportunities, Senior Citizen Resources works closely with all of our seniors to ensure we continually provide the services and support they need and have come to rely on. Many of the following services are provided on a free-will donation basis.

MEALS

Home-Delivered Meals

For seniors 60 and older recovering from surgery or just unable to leave the house, we deliver hot meals right to their doors. Our dedicated team of volunteers delivers more than 140 meals five days a week to Old Brooklyn residents. Congregate Meals

We serve nearly 100 nutritional lunches, such as pork roast with seasoned wedge potatoes or meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, to our area seniors  who are 60 and older Monday through Friday. Our menus are posted monthly for  your convience in our dining room, and  published in our monthly newsletter.  A $1.00 free-will donation is requested per meal.  Absolutely NO PERSON would be turned away due to their inability to make the $1.00 free- will donation.  Come make new friends while you enjoy a nutritious, hot lunch.  If you would like to come dine with us, please call ahead and make your reservation a week in advance by calling 216-749-5367. SOCIAL SERVICES

Our Social Services department is an excellent resource for information about senior service programs. We can link seniors to government assistance programs and home care agencies, provide referrals to Medicare and insurance assistance, and offer information about other available benefits/resources.  In addition we administer the Home-Delivered Meals program for our homebound seniors who are unable to visit us when Congregate meals in the dining area are being served.   We also host many educational health and wellness speakers, sponsor Wellness Fairs, offer health screenings and clinics, and provide blood pressure testing through Cleveland EMS.  Please call  Chris at 216-749-5367 ext. 1126 for more information on the above services.

VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT

We have an excellent volunteer program. In fact, our volunteers contribute an average of 30,000 hours per year to community and social service agencies.  Our biggest volunteer opportunity is our Meals On Wheels program, which uses 65  volunteers alone.  Looking to make a difference in someone’s?  Or perhaps you would like to just be active in your community? We can get you started making a difference right away.   If you are someone who is compassionate and committed, please call Kim  at 216.749.5367.
