Daily Activities at SCR

For seniors eager to get out of the house and engage in the community, Senior Citizen Resources organizes a number of fun, exciting activities each month. We offer a wide variety of physical, social, and cognitive activities for seniors of varying activity levels. Our daily activities have recently included:
  • World drumming, ukulele, handbell, and choir class series
  • Creative writing class series, and a successful Mind Challenge Trivia Team
  • Chair volleyball, tai chi, strength & stretch and yoga classes and a Walking Group
  • Several different art class series (usually followed by art shows) including watercolors, collage, drawing, and ceramics
  • Bingo, board & card games, puzzles
  • Crafting and crocheting groups
  • Holiday parties

Planned Trips & Excursions

With the help of our seniors, we organize a variety of trips and sightseeing tours. In the past, we have visited local attractions including: Playhouse Square, Botanical Gardens, Cleveland Art Museum, Rock Hall, West Side Market, Lake Farmparks quilt show, Nautica Queen, International Women’s Air & Space Museum, Marblehead Lighthouse, Captains baseball game, Lakeview Cemetery, Garfield National Historic Site, Crawford Auto & Aviation Museum, the Christmas Story House, Castle Noel, and a Holiday Lights Tour.

Senior Olympics

Each May, Senior Citizen Resources hosts our Senior Olympics — a week-long event with a variety of Olympic-style games geared toward seniors of all physical abilities.
